An aide to New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo was buried yesterday, two days after taking his own life in his Brooklyn home, officials and friends said. Arthur Harris, 28, was hired six weeks ago as a press secretary to Cuomo. "Artie was a friend and colleague to all who worked with him," Cuomo said. "He provided invaluable public service to the people of the state." A 2001 graduate of Columbia University and a native of Larchmont, Harris previously worked for Sen. Chuck Schumer in Washington. Cuomo and Schumer (D-N.Y.) joined hundreds of mourners at the Westchester Jewish Center in Mamaroneck. "He was a wonderful person, and we loved him," Schumer said. "We're all just shocked and grieving over this loss." Friends said Harris, an editor at the Columbia Daily Spectator while in college and a member of the university rugby team, battled depression. He is survived by his mother, Myra, and younger brother Robbie, 13. He was buried at Riversville Cemetery in Glenville, Conn., near his father, Jonathan, who died in 2004.
