Note: Tzom Gedalia 5582 (Being Saturday, Tzom Gedalia was delayed to Sunday the 4th of Tishray) - 23 September 1781 is the date listed by Rabbi Y Buksbaum as the date that Rabbi Meir was appointed as Rabbi of Danzig (Gdansk), Schottland, Langfuhr and Weinberg. It is possible that it was the following year on Tzom Gedalia (3 Tishray) 5583 - Wednesday 11 September 1782, that he was selected as Rabbi. This later date would match other sources such as the Jewish Encyclopedia that lists the year as 1782.
